ABOUT Surveys are not sexy. In fact, the whole notion of instantaneous, digital communication is not sexy. Google? Yahoo? Digg? Instapundit? All just a mirage. If you believe the first version of the world wide web had no tangible value and didn't change the world, why would Web 2.0 be any different? Why would this niche play matter? Good questions, actually. We're just trying to advance communications technology in a really, really small way, but it's a way that nobody seems to have done before. So that's cool. It just seemed that conducting surveys online should be easy. That it remains a challenge a full decade after the Internet revolution seemed (in 2004) to be kind of silly. We think (naively) that the key to this business is to enable a community of ideas ... way down the long tail. If you think about it for a while, the capacity to allow user-generated surveys in a "fast, free, fun, and freakishly intuitive" manner can also unlock some even more potent opportunities. For individuals, the appeal is simple: KillerSurvey.com allows anyone to create, view, and clone surveys in an open forum ... for free. Put simply, KillerSurvey.com democratizes surveys. And just maybe it offers an opportuntiy for indivduals to control their own personal profile. At a maximum, we give individuals, not faceless corporations, control of the Web in a few years. At a minimum, it's another cool tool for bloggers. WHO
